Kelly Kwalik – a warrior of freedom whose spirit will live on

OPM commander Kelly Kwalik was last week assassinated by Indonesian police during a raid in Timika last week. Kwalik had been fighting for West Papuan independence from Indonesia for nearly four decades.
Following the brutal murder of independence leader Theys Eluays by Indonesian special forces in 2001, Kwalik’s death is another dagger thrown at the Papuan people by the Government in Jakarta.
At least 500,000 Papuans have been slaughtered by the Indonesian military since the occupation began. Kwalik’s assassination and the ongoing Indonesian military operations against innocent Papuans reassert the urgent need for international intervention. Indonesia is committing genocide in West Papua. Western powers must intervene and bring those responsible for this genocide to justice.
The spirit of Kwalik will live on, and the struggle for freedom will never stop until West Papua is free once again. We must stand shoulder to shoulder with the Papuan people at this time. Papua Merdeka.

I agree about West Papua’s independence from Indonesia, but you have to merge in order to become stronger. not mutually establish their respective organizations, because you will be fragmented and not united with each other.
