Indonesia military burn villages around Wamena. People in hiding in jungle. Human rights catastrophe unfurling

Photos have emerged that show the devastation caused by an Indonesian military sweeping operation last week near the village of Bolakme, close to the West Papuan highland town of Wamena.
Over 500 Indonesian troops stormed the village, burning down peoples houses and forcing many to flee to the jungle where they still remain in hiding.
We repeat our calls to the international community to send a UN peacekeeping force to the region before it’s too late.
