‘Free West Papua’ NGO group launches in Czech Republic + new sign-ups for IPWP

A new Free West Papua campaign NGO group has launched in the Czech Republic, co-inciding with a number of Czech MPs signing up to the International Parliamentarians for West Papua declaration including a Government minister.

Friday 15th May 2009, fPcN interCultural: assisted in the creation of another Free West Papua campaign NGO: www.freewestpapua.cz, in the Czech Republic, at the Native & Indigenous Film Festival (naiff) www.naiff.eu

After showing the documentary “West Papua – The secret war in Asia” film (made by fPcN Germany in 2007), the panel with: Mr. Ondrej Liska, the Czech Minister of Education, Benny Wenda and fPcN activists, discussed with the visitors: “our responsibility for Indigenous peoples”. A lively discussion followed.

The Czech MPs that added their names to the International Parliamentarians for West Papua (www.ipwp.org), are;
Mr. Ondrej Liska, Minister of Education
Ms. Katerina Jacques MP
Mr. Rabas MP

fPcN was also able to introduce lawyers to the “International lawyers for West Papua” NGO (www.ilwp.org) and a large sign up, is anticipated in the coming days
